Mangalore, India held their first international cultural jamboree, which concluded successfully. The main focus of the event was to promote the activities of Scouts and Guides through government support. There are several issues, including a lack of a dedicated department for Scouts and Guides, that will be discussed and resolutions will be adopted for the promotion of Scouts and Guides activities as part of the valedictory event of the international cultural jamboree. A meeting of all district heads of the BSF will be held in the presence of State Chief Commissioner PGR Sindhia soon. The Scouts and Guides have 15 acres of land each in Pilikula and Udupi, besides three acres in Belthangady. There is a need for setting up facilities for the activities of Scouts and Guides in those places, and the government is prepared to set up a Scouts and Guides training centre at Pilikula, if the government sanctions funds. The next international jamboree will be held in South Korea, and we are already in the process of preparing.
