But one woman has revealed the multiple reasons she stopped wearing bras when she was 15 – insisting she values her comfort above anything else.
“Why I stopped wearing bras at 15,” Ruby wrote over the TikTok video.
She then went into further details about the reasons behind her decision, writing: “Bras make your boobs sag.”
“Bras cause neck and back pain,” she added.
Ruby, who is now 20, continued to explain that “going braless decreases risk of breast cancer and cysts”.
And amid the cost of living crisis, she noted that “bras are expensive”.
Lastly, she insisted: “IT’S MORE COMFY!”
“But do whatever makes you feel most comfortable,” she added in the video caption.
Despite Ruby’s points, people in the comments section insisted it’s harder for women with bigger chests to go without a bra.
“words from a b cup or smaller,” one wrote.
“It’s easy for people with smaller chests to say,” another added.
As a third commented: “not with these bowling balls.”
“Easy to say when you don’t have double ds,” someone else commented.
While others insisted lots of Ruby’s points don’t have scientific proof behind them.
“Some of these r not true or not fully proven so don’t worry guys,” one wrote.
