A group of people from the jain community protested against the jarkhand government's decision to convert their holy place, Sammed Shikherji, into a tourist place. The 20th Teerthankar had found salvation at this place and Jains believe all their sins will be absolved if they visit the place. The place has been a pilgrimage site for centuries and making it a tourist place is unwarranted. The community leader, Lalchand Jain, said that the jarkhand government must withdraw its order to convert the site into a tourist place. The jsp will contest in all the 224 constituencies this time without any alliance. Karnataka BSP General Secretary, Kallappa Toravi, said that the party is already receiving hundreds of applications from aspirants across the state soon the names will be finalised and the final list will be announced on the birthday of Mayawati's birthday.
