All Sexual Assault Charges Against Rex Orange County Have Been Dropped - Read His Statement

Rex Orange County is no longer facing charges.

All charges of sexual assault against the 24-year-old singer-songwriter, also known as Alexander O’Connor, have been dropped as of Thursday (December 22).

“The Crown Prosecution Service reviewed the evidence and decided that there is no merit in this case going to trial, not guilty verdicts were entered to all the charges,” he confirmed on social media.

He said that he “always denied these allegations”, adding “I have never assaulted anyone and I do not condone violence or abusive behavior of any kind.”

He also explained that the “CCTV footage obtained by the police contradicted” the accuser’s account of events.

“It’s been a difficult time for everyone involved and I’d like to thank the people who have helped me through it,” he wrote.

The singer was initially charged with six counts of sexually assaulting a woman in an alleged incident at the beginning of June.

He appeared in court in early October and pled not guilty to all charges. Find out more about the initial charges.
