Report: Spurs prepared to offer £26m for Serie A defender in January 

CalcioMercatWeb.it have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to offer €30m (£26.1m) to Inter Milan for Milan Skriniar in January.

Skriniar’s future has been the subject of an increasing amount of speculation as we near the January transfer window, with the centre-back’s current deal running out next summer (Transfermarkt).

Tottenham are one of the clubs who have been credited with an interest in the Slovak over recent weeks (90 min) while Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain also said to be monitoring the 27-year-old’s situation (FC Inter News).

CMW.it have now said that Antonio Conte’s men would be willing to shell out €30m (£26.1m) for Skriniar despite the fact that his contract runs out at the end of the season.

However, the report adds that the Nerazzurri hierarchy are likely to ‘categorically refuse’ such an offer for the North London club.

This is because the Inter are still hopeful that Skriniar will put pen to paper on a new contract at the club. CMW.it add that as things stand, there is only a ‘faint chance’ of the former Sampdoria man being sold in January.

If Inter genuinely feared that Skriniar was not going to sign a new deal, they would have likely sold him to PSG back in the summer. It appears like the Nerazzurri are planning to cash in on Denzel Dumfries (and potentially Stefan de Vrij) and hold on to the Slovak in January.
