Lincolnshire celebrates 135th anniversary with 400th truck
J Bradshaw and Sons in Lincolnshire is celebrating 135 years in business by taking delivery of its 400th vehicle: a New Generation DAF XF.
The delivery by Ford & Slater took place at a special event at the transport firm's Sturton by Stow depot attended by local MP Sir Edward Leigh.
Bradshaw employees past and present were also there to share the milestone in the company’s history.
The DAF featured a 400 themed livery and was handed over to driver David Justice by MD Tim Bradshaw.
Bradshaw said: “History is important, but it’s just as important as looking towards the future.
“The receipt of the 400th vehicle has marked a very important moment in the history of J Bradshaw and Sons and will be looked back upon in many years to come!”
The company can trace its roots back to the late 19th century where it began its move from horses to steam engines and later ventured into warehousing.
A highlight of the event was the appearance of a steam-powered engine that the company owned and operated 100 years ago, after discovering it was now owned by vintage vehicle collector Russell Cook.
