Dachser makes two key hires as it drives into the UK market

Dachser UK has announced two new appointments designed to strengthen its position in the UK and Irish markets.

Mark Cosgrove (pictured) joins the company from DB Schenker UK and Ireland, where he was head of commercial land transport within the UK and Ireland. Previous to that he spent 25 years with Redhead International.

In his new post as regional sales and commercial manager Cosgrove is responsible for both countries in a move which the company said will bolster its ambitious growth plans.

Cosgrove’s brief also includes driving growth in the groupage market segment by coordinating key customer relationships.

Meanwhile Chris Radley, whose 30 years of experience includes senior operational and commercial roles at DHL Global Forwarding, will assume full responsibility for Dachser’s air and sea logistics (ASL) activities across the UK, under the title of ASL branch manager.

Radley is tasked with building on the momentum created by record growth in its ASL business unit last year.

Dachser UK is part of the German family-owned air, sea and logistics and warehousing firm Dachser. The company said this week that changing trading conditions for exporters and importers in both the UK and Ireland, post-Brexit, have brought new opportunities for its customers which the firm's European road distribution services can help them exploit.

Announcing the appointments Mark Rollinson, Dachser UK’s managing director said: “Mark Cosgrove has an enviable depth of experience in the UK and Ireland’s road logistics market.

"I am convinced that his expertise in the sector along with his extensive market knowledge will be instrumental in the development of our services over the coming years, and will add significantly to the growth of our business in the UK and Ireland.”

Cosgrove added: "Dachser’s reputation in the European distribution and logistics arena is undoubted. We are the leaders for quality and innovation in the market and thrive on the reliability of our service.

Commenting on Radley’s role, Rollinson said: “The growth trend of ASL provides us with an ideal opportunity to invest further in this element of our business.

"The international freight forwarding sector continues to be an attractive market and the synergies we can offer customers with our interlocked ASL & European Road distribution and logistics services are highly beneficial. Chris will be taking a leading role bringing these offerings to the market.”
