Tottenham Hotspur winger, Dejan Kulusevski, has revealed his plans for the winter while a number of his Lilywhite teammates head off to Qatar for the World Cup.
With Sweden falling short in qualification for the tournament, Kulusevski will be one of the Spurs players left behind at Hotspur Way for over a month.
However, rather than feeling sorry for himself or resting on his laurels, the winger will be working hard to get himself back in peak condition for the Premier League return.
Kulusevski had been out injured since the last international break until he came off the bench for Ryan Sessegnon against Liverpool on Sunday. And the left-wing back was unable to even complete his lap around the pitch after being subbed off before Kulusevski notched an assist for Harry Kane!
In an interview with the Evening Standard, Kulusevski explained how he is planning to work hard on his own game to improve and hit the ground running when play resumes on Boxing Day.
Despite not being at the World Cup with Sweden at the end of this month, Kulusevski sees that as an opportunity: “We footballers never have time to work on our game, but now we have one month in two weeks, so I’m looking forward to it, doing a good programme and coming back very much better.
“I hate not to be there. I’m a football geek, so I’ll probably watch some games but try to enjoy outside life with family and train a lot.”
Spurs Web Opinion:
Kulusevski is one of the most important players for this Tottenham side. There is so much emphasis on him for the Conte 3-4-3 formation to work, and without him it completely collapsed. He ran the show after coming on against Liverpool and Spurs will want to see that week-in week-out after the World Cup.
