At Nippert Stadium on Friday, the Cincinnati Bearcats (7-2) take on the East Carolina Pirates (6-3).
The Bearcats head into the matchup after winning 20-10 over the Navy Midshipmen in their last game on November 5. The Pirates’ last game was a 27-24 win over the BYU Cougars. Against the Midshipmen, Ben Bryant led the Bearcats with 299 yards on 25-of-35 passing (71.4%) for two touchdowns and no interceptions. Charles McClelland carried the ball 11 times for 60 yards (5.5 yards per carry). He added one reception for three yards. Tyler Scott had 139 yards on 10 catches (13.9 per reception) with two touchdowns in that game. Holton Ahlers’ performance for the Pirates against the Cougars included 15-of-22 passing for 197 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. He rushed five times for 18 yards and two touchdowns. Keaton Mitchell carried the ball 21 times for 176 yards (8.4 yards per attempt) with one touchdown. In the passing game, he added one catch for eight yards. Isaiah Winstead recorded five catches for 63 yards (on five targets).
