The Club was approached by Poppies fan Anthony Wilson, asking the club to support the “100 in 24” event to raise funds for the Freekicks Foundation.
The Freekicks Foundation is a charity, based in Peterborough, whose aim is to provide football related activities to ill, bereaved, and disadvantaged children.
The aim of the event was to visit 100 clubs in 24 hours (on 13th August) and to have the clubs donate a signed shirt for auction for the foundation to raise funds. We were club 32 on their visit list. Unfortunately, they were not able, due to time pressures, to appear at our home game against Bradford (Park Avenue) that day, but they did visit Latimer Park on the way to achieving their goal. Many clubs pledged a signed shirt to the charity, ultimately to be auctioned to raise further funds.

After a couple of false starts, due to match postponements and other commitments, Anthony, accompanied by fellow fundraiser Courtney Howell, was able to attend our recent match against Banbury to receive a signed shirt and they are pictured here receiving the shirt from Club Director Mick Coe, in the Social Club after the match.
