A car struck the pedestrian along Lucas Valley Road near Highway 101, police said.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the death of pedestrian struck near Highway 101 in San Rafael.
The pedestrian, a 35-year-old Novato man, was crossing the offramp at Lucas Valley Road on Wednesday evening at approximately 9:20 p.m. and walking toward a nearby bus pad, said CHP Officer Darrel Horner.
A 21-year-old San Rafael man driving a Toyota Camry “was unable to avoid the pedestrian in time,” Horner said.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspected as factors in the collision, Horner said.
