This potato is very angry about being left behind at a car park in Sheffield
The residents of Sheffield had a very scary Halloween indeed when they woke up the next day to find an angry potato staring back at them.
It’s not too clear where it came from – a fancy dress costume perhaps, or it escaped being made into chips – but it certainly isn’t happy about it.
Journalist and teacher Lindsay Pantry tweeted on Tuesday: ‘Did you lose your giant potato friend at the Sheffield University Regent Street car park? If so, he’s b****y fuming.’
A couple of hours later she followed up the tweet to say ‘he’s still there’, with a picture taken from further away and the hash tag #potatowatch.
But yesterday sadly the potato came to a grisly end and was pictured decapitated on the floor.
The owner of the potato has so far been impossible to track down by Metro.co.uk.
But it isn’t the first face in food to cause a stir as of late.
One man was so convinced he had spotted Boris Johnson’s face in his curry he thought it was a sign the former prime minister would take over from Liz Truss.
If that made you scoff, quite clearly faces in curries are a thing after another woman claimed she had spotted Shrek in her takeaway.
The face of Jesus was also reportedly spotted in a naan bread more than 10 years ago.
And the faces don’t stop at food, either – a holiday homeowner said visitors come to stay at her Scottish cottage to try and find Gandalf in the floorboards.
Finally, when Queen Elizabeth II died in September, many were convinced they saw her outline appear in clouds in the sky.
