Anne Hathaway Reveals if Her 'Devil Wears Prada' Outfit at NYFW Was Intentional

Anne Hathaway arrives at the Today show studio to discuss her upcoming film Armageddon Time on Wednesday (October 12) in New York City.

During the interview, the 39-year-old actress was asked if she intentionally channeled her iconic Devil Wears Prada character, Andy Sachs, at NYFW last month when she sat next to Anna Wintour, who inspired the movie.

Anne sat directly next to Anna in the front row, and wore an all dark-brown look like her character Andy wore in the last scene of the Devil Wears Prada.

“It was kind of nuts, wasn’t it? It was by accident,” she said on the TODAY show. “I was supposed to wear something else. The shoes didn’t fit, this was the other outfit that came.”

“And then my hairstylist, who was so lovely—I had never worked with him before—just said, ‘Oh I know what to do,’ and he threw my hair up in a ponytail,” she said of her pulled back ‘do with bangs. “And I looked in the mirror and I thought, ‘Oh that’s funny, I wonder if anybody will notice.’”

She was also asked if she was intimidated by working with Anthony Hopkins on Armageddon Time and said, “I tried not to be, I tried not to be, but the first day I was acting with him, I was non-functional.”
