Meet 'Kinky Boots' Star Christian Douglas & Learn 10 Fun Facts About Him! (Exclusive)
Christian Douglas is currently playing the lead role of Charlie Price in the off-Broadway production of Kinky Boots and we caught up with him to learn some fun facts that fans might not already know!
Kinky Boots, which won the Tony Award for Best Musical back in 2013, is currently playing at Stage 42 in New York City and it’s getting rave reviews!
Christian was previously seen in the national tour of Pretty Woman and in the Arena Stage production of Newsies. Get to know him with these 10 Fun Facts:
- I was home schooled up until 7th grade. I vividly remember my first day having to bravely pick a lunch table to sit at.
- I’m left handed. The whole right brain creativity thing is cool, but I hate having to choose really specific quick drying gel pens if I don’t want to smudge everything.
- I was a singer and active duty soldier in the US Army Chorus for 4 years and went through basic combat training, aka “boot camp”.
- My go to TV show is Friends. I grew up watching it and now it feels like a warm hug.
- In high school I sang in a Boychoir. It’s the reason I fell in love with singing and choral music, and led me to be in a barbershop quartet…so I’m a nerd.

- I’m an introvert. In this high energy business of performing and press events, I have to recharge with quiet me time.
- I love to make cocktails. I got really into mixology over the pandemic. It’s ok because it was fancy drinking.
- My sister was an Olympic swimmer. We went to watch her win medals in Beijing in 2008.
- I love fancy coffee. (Again, I’m a nerd) I have a pour over every morning and love single origin Ethiopian beans.
- I’m a songwriter. I wrote and recorded a full length album over the pandemic and I’m currently working on a musical.
