The power department has initiated the KYC (Know Your Customer) drive for its 3.6 lakh consumers in GB Nagar. For this, it will seek the help of RWAs and AOAs. While new connections are given only after proper KYCs, the problem is arising with earlier, old connections where consumers are not reachable in the absence of a functional contact number. These amount to nearly 10 to 15% of the overall consumers.
