RYLAN Clark has revealed the secret advice Katie Price gave him amid the backlash he received to reality show debut
The 33-year-old – whose real name is Ross Richard Clark – is best known for his stint on ninth series of The X Factor in 2012.
However he actually took part in Katie Price’s reality show Signed by Katie Price the year before.
He placed second behind winner Amy Willerton.
In Rylan’s new book TEN, he opened up about the backlash he received after taking part in Katie’s show – and the help she gave him to overcome it.
Rylan wrote: “I rang her and she told me not to give a flying f*** and carry on being me.

“She said she’d created Jordan. I’d created me. Deal with it.”
He added: “To be honest, it was flawed from the start, but one thing I did get out of it was getting very close to Katie, who I got to know behind the scenes, and then there was Jordan.”
He decided to pick a stage name after being influenced by Katie, but his new persona became “public enemy number one” during his time on Signed By Katie Price.
“I only had myself to blame. I created him, I was the one who’d played along week in week out on national TV, trying to make something of myself,” Rylan said.
A year later he participated in The X Factor and wowed the judges with a version of Des’ree’s “Kissing You”.
He made it all the way through to week eight, but was sent home after Nicole Scherzinger picked Union J to stay over him.
Then in 2013 he took part in Celebrity Big Brother and won over the hearts of the nation.
That kick started his career in the presenting scene.
