WE’RE now getting into the full holiday rush phase of the year, with a number of amazing games coming out next month.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will likely be next month’s best-seller, but if you aren’t into shooters there are still a number of great games coming in October.
Here’s our round up of the biggest games coming out next month:
While some players accessed an early version of the game a few months back, Overwatch 2 will make a full launch next month.
There has been some controversy surrounding the upcoming hero shooter.
Not everyone will be able to play all the new heroes at launch, and there are rumours that some of the old heroes will also be launched behind the Battle Pass.

The game will also require players to verify their identity via their phone number.
Overwatch 2 is free-to-play and launches October 4, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
September saw LEGO Brawls, and in October we will be treated to LEGO Bricktales.
Bricktales uses LEGO’s unique style of brick-building to bring players a different kind of puzzle game.
You will voyage through a varied landscape, from deserts to tropical islands, all built in virtual LEGO.
This one looks great for families as both adults and kids can enjoy it.
LEGO Bricktales releases October 12, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
While a number of big sporting games came out in September, October has one more left to give us.
For golfing fanatics PGA Tour 2K23 releases soon, and they’ve put basketball legend Michael Jordan in the game.
There are a number of male and female playable pros this year, including Tiger Woods and Brooke Henderson.
There is also character creation, target practice, and online multiplayer.
PGA Tour 2K23 launches on October 14 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Scorn is an upcoming body horror title based on the works of H.R. Geiger.
In our Scorn preview, we remember our time with the game filled with fleshy walls and bone cages.
Releasing in October is a smart move as the game is sure to strike fear into its players.
While we thought the combat could use some improvement, it’s more a game built on the back of its unsettling atmosphere.
Scorn in a Microsoft exclusive and releases on October 14 for Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC.
Ubisoft’s biggest release of the year, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope offers a sequel to the popular turn-based strategy game.
Mario and friends will team up with Rayman’s Raving Rabbids in a game said to be more open and tactical than the last.
Bowser, Rabbid Rosalina, and a new Rabbid character called Edge are set to appear for the first time.
Three DLC packs are already in development, and Rayman will be released as a playable character.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a Nintendo Switch exclusive releasing on October 20.
Another big release this month is Gotham Knights, where you can play as either Batgirl, Red Hood, Nightwing, or Robin.
Play solo or co-op and try to protect Gotham from the underground group known as the Court of Owls in the wake of Batman’s death.
Each hero has their own playstyle and set of attacks, so you can choose the one which suits you.
Footage from this one has looked promising so far, so it will be one to watch when it releases.
Gotham Knights will launch on October 21 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Based on the original episodic adventure by Telltale Games, Gearbox took over development following the studio’s closure.
Many of the key developers from the first game were brought on to help the new team build an engaging narrative adventure.
There will be three playable characters in the new games, who have to make heartbreaking choices which affect the story.
It will be a standalone game featuring its own unique story.
New Tales from the Borderlands will release on October 21 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
Fans have been waiting since 2014 for a new Bayonetta game, so a lot is expected from Bayonetta 3.
This time human Viola will be joining as a new playable character, as Bayonetta teams up to take on the latest threat.
A new mode has been introduced which will allow players to toggle the game’s nudity, called Naive Angel mode.
Jeanne, Luca, Rodin, and Enzo will all return to help out the Umbra Witch.
Bayonetta 3 is a Nintendo Switch exclusive, and launches on October 28.
Undoubtedly, the biggest release of the month is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
The multiplayer beta has already taken place and it seems to have been a huge hit with fans.
This is not a remake of the 2009 game of the same name, but a sequel to the 2019 reboot of the Modern Warfare series.
