Rachel Zegler Had a Breast Cancer Scare at Age 19, Shares Photo of Scar from Biopsy Procedure
Rachel Zegler is opening up about the breast cancer scare she had at the age of 19.
The West Side Story actress, who is now 21, took to her Instagram Stories on Saturday (September 24) to share a photo of the scar from an out-patient biopsy procedure.
“Two years ago I found a lump in my breast and went through what was undoubtedly the scariest week of my life,” Rachel wrote on the photo.

She continued, “No OB/GYN was taking new patients due to the backlog of the pandemic, but I was fortunate to have the care of my pediatrician who prescribed me an ultrasound, which led to an out-patient biopsy procedure. Thankfully it was benign.”
“And now the scar serves as a reminder to check my breasts regularly for any irregular growth – the fibroadenoma in my left breast is a common occurrence but nevertheless extremely scary to find. Early detection saves lives!!! Check your titty meat :),” she concluded.
Rachel has a huge career ahead of her as she has Shazam! Fury of the Gods hitting theaters on March 17, 2023 and she recently wrapped production on Disney’s live-action Snow White remake, which will be released on March 22, 2024.
Now, Rachel is filming The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, which currently has a release date of November 17, 2023.
