Aldi launches two new Irish cream flavours – and one tastes just like Quality Streets

SUPERMARKET giant Aldi has unveiled two new festive alcoholic drinks as Christmas creeps closer.

The grocer has added two new flavours to its Ballycastle Irish cream range – chocolate, caramel and hazelnut cream and espresso martini cream.

And the German supermarket chain has claimed the chocolate, caramel and hazelnut beverage tastes just like “The Purple One” Quality Street chocolate.

Both of the new drinks are 70cl in size and cost £7.49.

That’s not all, as Aldi has brought back two flavours from the existing Ballycastle range as well – the chocolate and clementine cream and white chocolate cream.

Again, both are priced at £7.49 and come in 70cl bottles.

Asda makes major change to Just Essentials - and shoppers are divided

Meanwhile, if you fancy adding a little twist to your normal Christmas cracker routine – Aldi is selling its 70cl Ballycastle country cream crackers for £7.99.

All of the five products are available to purchase in Aldi stores nationwide.

It comes after the supermarket chain brought back its wooden toy range with prices starting from £15.

It’s also selling a wine advent calendar for Christmas this year.

How do the Irish cream prices compare?

We checked out how much you can get Irish cream flavours for elsewhere to see if Aldi’s newest additions are good value for money.

It was hard to make a straight comparison, as it appears Aldi is the only supermarket selling these four flavours.

That said, Aldi’s standard Ballycastle 70cl Irish cream bottle costs just £4.29 – over £3 cheaper than the other four flavours.

Asda’s 70cl standard Irish cream flavour costs just £4.75 as well.

So if you’re not fussed about the more extravagant flavours, you could save yourself some money by going with the normal flavour.

If you’re looking to buy Baileys’ original Irish cream flavour you’re going to have to pay a lot more.

The cheapest supermarket selling a 70cl bottle was Sainsbury’s, where it costs £10.
