Overturned Vehicle in Northeastern Afghanistan Valley Claims at Least 3 Lives
A vehicle overturned in a valley in Faizabad city, the provincial capital of Badakhshan province in northeastern Afghanistan, resulting in the deaths of 3 people and the injuries of 4 more, according to local Taliban officials.
The vehicle crashed into the Razan valley in Faizabad city, according to Moizuddin Ahmadi, the Taliban’s director of information and culture in the province of Badakhshan.
A child was also among the three people who were killed in the traffic accident, and two women were among the four injured, according to Ahmadi, a Taliban official.
In recent months, traffic accidents have become more frequent in Afghanistan’s provinces. Three people were killed and 10 others were wounded in a car collision on the Kabul-Mazar-e-Sharif route last Saturday.
In addition, three separate traffic accidents took place in the central Afghan province of Ghor which left 4 traffic accident victims, 1 dead and 3 severely wounded.
The current rise in traffic fatalities in Afghanistan is directly related to driver negligence and recklessness.
Speeding, unsafe driving routes, careless drivers, and a lack of traffic signals are other key issues that considerably raise the number of road fatalities in Afghanistan every day.
