Report: Premier League schedule set to return this weekend – But doubts for London games
The Daily Mail have now revealed that there are doubts over whether Chelsea’s clash with Liverpool, which is scheduled to be held at Stamford Bridge this Sunday, will go ahead.
All of the matches in the EFL and the Premier League, including Tottenham’s trip to Manchester City, were called off last weekend as a sign of respect after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
The EFL have confirmed that their games will continue as scheduled from Tuesday but there has been no communication on the matter from the Premier League as of yet.
The Daily Mirror reported on Sunday that while there is hope among clubs that the fixtures will be played, there is some uncertainty regarding matches in the capital, including Tottenham’s clash against Leicester City.
It was explained that this was because of the shortage of security personnel owing to the policing requirements for the Queen’s state funeral on Monday.
The Mail have now stated that the Premier League schedule is set to return as normal this weekend but there are ‘doubts’ over the games played in London.
The report adds that the match between Liverpool and Chelsea is ‘in most doubt’ since the game is scheduled to be held 24 hours before Her Majesty’s state funeral.

It sounds like the fixtures scheduled on Sunday in London are under a bigger threat of being called off than the ones scheduled for Saturday. So, that might be good news for Spurs but we would have to wait until we receive confirmation from the Premier League to be sure.
