Report: Shortage of TV trucks could jeopardise Spurs vs Leicester this weekend
The Daily Mail have revealed that a lack of enough TV trucks for Sky Sports to cover this week’s fixtures, could lead to another round of Premier League fixtures being postponed.
All of last weekend’s fixtures, including Tottenham’s away clash at Manchester City, were called off following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II last Thursday.
It is unclear whether this weekend’s fixtures will go ahead, with both The Athletic and The Daily Mirror reporting over recent days that matches in the capital might not go ahead.
It was explained that there is a shortage of police resources for the matches in London, including Tottenham’s clash against Leicester City, due to the security requirements for Her Majesty’s state funeral on Monday.
The Mail have now revealed that there is an additional problem that has to be solved for the matches this weekend to go ahead as planned.
The report reveals that the fixtures could be cancelled due to a shortage of TV trucks needed to telecast the fixture, due to the 24/7 coverage being given to the Queen’s funeral.
Sky Sports are said to be running out of broadcast trucks as many are set to be used by sister channel Sky News to cover the funeral.

Some football fans would be livid if the games are cancelled but I do sympathise with the authorities as they cannot compromise on the security and other infrastructure needed for the Queen’s funeral.
The main worry for the Premier League clubs is the ridiculous scheduling this season, which means that there is simply no time to fit these matches in on a later date.
