Anyone else watching this? Are you getting it in the UK?
I'm 6 episodes in and finding it lightly entertaining. Covering the 21/22 season. The two owners are fairly comical. But it's more a great story of a rundown team in a rundown town. I remember Wrexham being a much bigger club - Old Division 2 (aka Championship) when I was a kid. So I find myself rooting for them to make it back.
Lots of interesting things going on. The two glamour actors made an initial investment of 2 million. Not sure what additional cash they've thrown in - there was a big deal about 200K to relay the pitch. Not sure if they've thrown in more cash to sign players or if they've been getting the money from sponsors.
On the latter note, they did pull in Tik Tok as one of the sponsors (huge for such a small club) and both actors use the platform to promote. They've been pulling in some big crowds too, boosting revenue.
Leeds fans might be interested to know that Bryce Hosannah and Sam Dalby are there, although I haven't seen them mentioned on the show (Dalby only signed this season).
Cringeworthy for Leeds fans might be the appearances of Shaun Harvey. I thought they hired him as a consultant to find a CEO. He did that. But he was in the last episode, heavily involved in the owners buying back the ground. I didn't know much about Harvey. I've lived in the States since 1998. When Leeds got relegated, they dropped off TV and I became a casual fan for about 10 years. So I hadn't even heard of him until he appeared in this series and mentioned he'd been at Leeds during a pretty dire part of our history.
