Journalist says he would not ‘rule out’ Spurs looking at PL player in January
According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, Tottenham cannot be ruled out as a potentially interested party for Wolves winger Adama Traore during the January transfer window.
In the final few weeks of the transfer window, reports indicated that Spurs could look to snap up Traore as a replacement for Bryan Gil, who had been linked with a loan move to Valencia (Football.London).
The Daily Express even reported a couple of weeks ago that the North London club viewed the pacy wide-man as a cut-price option since he is into the final year of his contract at Wolves. However, Spurs ended up hanging on to Gil while Traore stayed put at Molineux.
After the transfer window closed, Spanish publication Sport reported that the 26-year-old wants to wait to see how this campaign unfolds before deciding whether to put pen to paper on a new deal at Wolves.
The report asserted that the winger’s focus for the moment is on becoming a ‘key player’ for Bruno Lage’s side.
Crook has now hinted that Spurs could be tempted to sign Traore on a cut-price deal in January since the Spaniard will only have six months left on his contract at the time.
The journalist told GiveMeSport regarding Tottenham’s interest in the Wolves star: “They might see that as a more attractive option in January when he’ll only have six months left on his contract.
“He will be a bit cheaper, so I wouldn’t rule it out. But I haven’t heard anything on that.”

I do expect Tottenham to be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements in January since I expect Bryan Gil to be loaned out. However, I am not sure, Traore will be in a hurry to leave Wolves in January.
He might prefer to wait until next summer and leave as a free agent so that he will get a decent signing-on fee and would likely have more options to choose from.
