You have the eyes of a hawk if you can spot the shark lurking near this beach

YOU’LL have to be extremely sharp-eyed to be able to spot the shark patrolling off an Australian beach.

The footage reveals just how difficult it can be to spot the animal swimming in the ocean.

Australian photographer Sean Scott took the footage in Esperance, Western Australia using a drone and its since gone viral on social media.

The brief clip shows the stunning blue ocean and for a short moment the shark can be spotted.

Are you able to locate the fearsome beast lurking under the waves? Scroll down to find out, if you can’t.

If you look closely, the shark can be seen in the bottom left of the frame, just below where it says: “Can you see the shark?”

Although the outline of the shark is faint, anyone looking closely should be able to spot it.

Many commentators searched high and low for it but most were unable or had difficulty spotting it.

In February, Brit diving instructor Simon Nellist lost his life after being mauled to death by a 15ft great white shark.

Simon, 35, was killed by the predator just 150m away from the beach at Buchan Point, near Little Bay in Sydney.

The tragic death was the first deadly shark attack in Sydney since 1963 when Marcia Hathaway, a well-known local actress, was fatally mauled by a shark in Middle Harbour.

Shark attacks though are still relatively rare around the world.

As of August 9, there have been 57 reported shark attacks in 2022 according to Tracking Sharks, with six fatalities.

The latest was an eight-year-old British boy who needed a three hour operation after being attacked by sharks while on holiday with his family in the Bahamas.

As of December 25 there were 81 shark attack bites in 2021 publicly reported and verified, according to Tracing Sharks.

Nine of those were fatal.

Experts have warned the number of attacks will rise thanks to environmental initiatives to protect seals – a key part of a shark’s diet.

Shark attacks are very rare but marine biologists say swimmers should still avoid wearing dark clothing and should not swim alone.

Sharks are also far more under threat from humans than vice versa and every year millions are killed for sport.

And nearly one in five shark species are said to be endangered or vulnerable.
