Report: Tottenham have made final Japhet Tanganga transfer decision
Football.London have revealed that Tottenham have now blocked Japhet Tanganga’s exit ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline, with the defender now set to stay at the club.
Tanganga did not make the matchday squad for Spurs’ season opener against Southampton and has been an unused substitute against Chelsea, Wolves and Nottingham Forest.
Football.London state that the Spurs academy graduate was of interest to Serie A duo AC Milan and AS Roma during this window, while Forest were also keen on snapping up the England Under-21 international.
The defender’s preference is thought to have been a move to San Siro if he left the North London club. It is revealed that Tangagna now looks on course to stay at Tottenham at least until the January window.
Football.London also suggest that Spurs’ decision could mean that they are unlikely to move for a centre-back within the next couple of days. However, the report does add that a ‘deadline day change of heart’ by the club cannot be ruled out.

I am not surprised by Tottenham’s decision on Tanganga, especially given the club’s challenges with meeting the homegrown criteria for the Champions League. I am personally a fan of Tanganga and I am hopeful that the 23-year-old could win Conte over if he gets some opportunities over the next few months.
