Oregon Governor Kate Brown: Killing Babies is “Health Care” and a “Fundamental Right”

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown criticized Idaho lawmakers Thursday for protecting unborn babies’ lives while claiming that abortions are “health care” and a “fundamental right.”

Fox 12 Oregon reports Brown, a pro-abortion Democrat, held a press conference in Portland to respond to the Idaho abortion ban, which went into effect Thursday. She welcomed women to come from the neighboring state to abort their unborn babies in Oregon.

“We believe that healthcare is a fundamental right and that abortion is healthcare,” Brown said. “Oregon will continue to be a safe, welcoming and inclusive state for all those who want to access reproductive healthcare.”

Representatives of the billion-dollar abortion industry joined her at the press conference, including Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette CEO Anne Udall. According to the report, Udall said Oregon abortion facilities have seen an increase in patients since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June.

“We are seeing people from almost every red state in the country,” she said.

Brown has been working with the governors of Washington and California to expand abortions, including by devoting millions of taxpayer dollars to destroying unborn babies’ lives. In March, the Oregon legislature approved $15 million to pay for women in and out of state to travel for abortions and to increase the number of abortion facilities in the state.

But abortions are not health care – tens of thousands of doctors confirm this. And the U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled in the case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health that abortion is not a constitutional right.

Since the June ruling, about a dozen states have begun protecting unborn babies’ right to life by banning abortions, and Idaho is one of them. SBA Pro-Life America estimates about 118,000 unborn babies are being saved from abortion as a result of the pro-life laws currently in place. More states are expected to enforce pro-life laws in the coming weeks.

Polls show Americans are pro-life, and a new national poll found 75 percent of Americans essentially agree with the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.
