WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University senior Sarah Lazar (SR/Rose Hill, Kan. ) and sophomore Antonia Perier (SO/Bakersfield, Calif.) have been selected to the KCAC Volleyball Preseason Team, the league office announced today (Aug. 25).
Lazar was a first-team All-KCAC performer last season after ranking second on the team with 274 kills along with a team-high 110 total blocks.
A native of Rose Hill, Kan., Lazar has picked up where she left off by earning the first KCAC Attacker of the Week award for this season after leading the Falcons to a 2-1 mark at the Aggie Classic with 50 kills and a .488 hitting percentage in the three matches.
Perier made an immediate impact as a freshman last season, leading the Falcons in both digs (624) and service aces (36) while posting 5.57 digs per set to earn second-team All-KCAC honors.
The Falcons, 2-1 on the young season, are set for action this weekend (Aug. 26-27) at the Shin Dig Classic in San Antonio, Texas.
