Real Madrid were drawn to face Leipzig in what can be considered as a favourable draw of the European champions but Bayern Munich were pitted in a tough-looking group alongside Barcelona and Inter in the draws held on Thursday in Nyon.
Real Madrid, who last May beat Liverpool 1-0 in the final, were drawn in Group F alongside German side Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk and Celtic.
The toughest group was undoubtedly Group C that will see Bayern Munich facing Barcelona, Inter and Viktoria Plzen.
Last year’s finalists Liverpool were put in Group A alongside Ajax and Napoli while AC Milan will be up against Chelsea and Salzburg in Group E.
