[Volleyball] Lazar selected as KCAC Volleyball Attacker of the Week
WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University MH/RS Sarah Lazar couldn't have asked for a better start to her senior season, as the Rose Hill, Kan. native has been named the first KCAC Volleyball Attacker of the Week for the 2022 season.
Lazar was spectacular in leading the Falcons to a pair of victories at this past weekend's Aggie Classic. She had 50 kills overall and hit .488 overall in the three matches in Goodwell, Okla.
In the opening two games of the season, Lazar averaged 18.5 kills and recorded a .589 hitting percentage to power the Falcons to a pair of sweeps over Paul Quinn College and Texas A&M University-Texarkana.
"Sarah is a force on the net and she definitely played a big part in our offensive success this past weekend," said Friends volleyball head coach Martin Ayin.
"We are excited to continue to build on this and move forward into our weekend in Texas!"
Through the first weekend of action in the 2022 campaign, Lazar is tops in the KCAC in kills per set (5.0) and second in hitting percentage (.488).
As Ayin alluded to, the Falcons are next set to compete at the Shin Dig Tournament this weekend (Aug. 26-27) in San Antonio, Texas.
