Tai Woffinden hoping special guest Ronnie O’Sullivan can be lucky charm and help him WIN speedway British Grand Prix
TAI WOFFINDEN believes that Ronnie O’ Sullivan can help him pot a first British Grand Prix win right on cue.
The three-time World Champ goes into tonight’s showpiece at the Principality Stadium in front of 40,000 home fans seeking a vital win.
Woffy, 32, reckons that a pre-meeting pep talk with snooker ace Rocket will help him blast away his rivals.
He said: “Ronnie is a total weapon on the table and his attitude to sport and life is the same as me.
“He doesn’t take any s*** and he speaks his mind.
“It’s super-cool that he’s come to watch in Cardiff. It’s up to me to show him I can be a hot shot on the track.”

Polish star Bartosz Zmarzlik has a 28-point cushion lead over Woffinden in the World Championship standings. But Woffy reckons – alongside Dan Bewley and Robert Lambert – the Brits can raise the roof.
He added: “It’s the World Championships and we are all there for a reason. It’s amazing the position we are in now as a country and a nation.
“When me, Rob and Dan walk out, the roof is going to blow off the place. In previous years, it has usually only been me. I will enjoy it just as much when they call out their names.
“I want to go there and do what I need to do. I believe the championship is still open.

“We know what needs to be done and my recent meetings have been going pretty well. I am just looking forward to getting out there and racing my bike.
“I am just visualising myself winning that GP. I would have the biggest party after. It would be insane.
“I have always said that it’s the best event on the calendar. It’s not just because of the stadium, just because it’s an indoor GP and just because it’s in the UK – it’s everything put together.

“You walk out of the stadium and all the pubs are there. Everyone is packed in. Everyone has their flags, their beers and they are all having a good time. There is a buzz about it.”
