Joe Jonas Opens Up About Balancing Career & Family: 'Learning as I Go'
Joe Jonas has a lot on his plate these days.
In a new interview, the 32-year-old musician opened up about balancing being in two bands, his acting career, and being a dad to two daughters.

“It’s an adjustment period,” Joe shared with People about keeping everything on track. “Just something that I’m learning as I go, I think I can now work a little bit harder to take time off.”
“I’m still trying to figure it out. Some weeks are a little bit more challenging than others, but it makes it a lot easier when you enjoy your gig,” Joe added. “I wake up every day just thrilled to be able to go make music or act and create different projects and have a beautiful family, so it feels like a dream come true.”
While he loves being in his two bands – Jonas Brothers and DNCE – Joe said it was a nice creative change to being in front of the camera as an actor. He will next be appearing in the Korean War drama Devotion.
“I’m so grateful I have music because I’m able to express my own stories and emotions and things I go through,” Joe explained. “You’re playing someone else when you’re on film, and I like that you have to immerse yourself into somebody else’s shoes, or at least find that place where you can go… It’s a nice balance.”
He added, “[I] got the opportunity to work with some incredible actors who really challenged me, and you want to step up your game because you’re like, ‘Oh, this is fun, but this is going to be a challenge,’ and you want to really respect the art of it. The story’s beautiful and I can’t wait for everyone to see this.”
Joe and wife Sophie Turner welcomed their second daughter in July. Their first daughter, Willa, was born in July 2020.
