Anne Heche updates – Ellen DeGeneres’ ex ‘expected to die’ as blood tests reveal drugs in her system before car crash
ACTRESS Anne Heche is “not expected to survive” after a horrifying car crash in LA under the influence of drugs left her in a coma.
The actress is currently being kept alive on a ventilator as those close to her are faced with the difficult decision to take her off life support.
LAPD spokesman Matthew Cruz has confirmed the crash is being investigated as a felony driving under the influence (DUI) traffic collision.
Preliminary blood tests “did show signs of narcotics” – but said additional testing is required to rule out any substances that were administered in hospital.
Sources added Fentanyl was also found in the Another World actress’ blood – but further testing needs to determine if it was in her system before the collision.
Last Friday’s crash left the famous ex of Ellen DeGeneres with a significant brain injury and serious burns, according to Deadline.
“We want to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne’s recovery and thank the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses that cared for Anne at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills hospital,” a representative for Heche’s family told Deadline.
“Unfortunately, due to her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She is not expected to survive.
