THE MAN who won £15,000 after coming second on last season’s Dream Team has given his top tips for the year ahead.
Paul Byrne beat around 400,000 other fantasy football players to bag the huge windfall.
And he has given Dream Team punters his dos and don’ts for this campaign, and it’s not too late to play!
Paul said: “If you see a guy that’s hitting form it’s really important to get that guy in your team as soon as possible, before his price goes up.
“Then he becomes unattainable. Buying the guys who are hitting form at the right time and getting them in your team is crucial.
“Trent Alexander Arnold has to be in your team. He’s scores and assists, he’s a points machine.

“Maybe someone like Reece James this season too.
“Strikers can be inconsistent. Trent starts pretty much every single game, and he’s always in the mix.
“Stay clear of Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Paul also told how he has been mulling over his team for this season for weeks before last night’s big kick-off.
He joked on talkSPORT: “Well there’s no luck, it’s pure skill. Having a really in-depth knowledge of the fixture list is super important.
“It is a lot of hard work and dedication and it pays off.
“Picking my team evolves over the weeks, and then you’re dipping in and out, changing it constantly.
“It’s a lot of chopping and changing and then by the time last night came around, it looked completely different to the initial team you put together.”
And Paul explained how incredible it was to bag the £15,000 prize – but wants to go one better a win £75,000 this year.
He said: “It was incredible to finish second. I’ve been playing for years and years and years, just in mini leagues with my mates.

“I usually beat them, but to finish in the top five of the country was amazing.
“The margins are tiny towards the end of a season. Every transfer you make is super important.
“I guess a few of them I got wrong, but there is a massive amount of luck.”
