Her team at Parkwood shared 10 high-res photos to mark the singer's new era.
Much like the music itself, the photos draw from queer ball culture and '70s club aesthetics.

Beyoncé told fans that much of the album is indebted to her late Uncle Johnny, whom she described in 2019 as "the most fabulous gay man I've ever met."

"He was my godmother and the first person to expose me to a lot of the music and culture that serve as inspiration for this album," she shared on her website.

"Uncle Johnny made my dress / That cheap spandex, she looks a mess," she sings in the 11th track "Heated.""Disco Horse."

The credits for the album include queer artists like Big Freedia, Honey Dijon, and Syd.

Beyoncé also confirmed on her website that "Renaissance" is part of a "three act project."

She said the music was recorded "over three years during the pandemic. A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative."

"Renaissance" consists of 16 tracks, including the hit single "Break My Soul."
