The incidents happened between Monday, 18 July and Friday, 22 July in the Kerrow Drive area in Kingussie, Inverness-shire.

We told yesterday how one cat, Nuke, had been shot with an arrow but it miraculously avoided any major organs.

X-rays showed the arrow deep inside the 12-year-olds body but completely missing his heart, lungs and spine.

Owner Jack McLean had left the door open and Nuke had returned with the arrow in his back and he had feared “he had crawled home to die.”

“I’m so grateful for everything they managed to do at Strathspey Vets.

“Thanks to them, I’ll hopefully get to spend many more years with him.”

Cops have today confirmed the second cat has now died and they are now appealing for information.
