Journalist claims chances of Serie A club signing Spurs player are now ‘high’
Simone Dell’Uomo has claimed there is a high chance that AC Milan will complete a deal to sign Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga.
Milan have been in talks with Spurs managing director Fabio Paratici about a move for the 23-year-old with discussions expected to progress (Fabrizio Romano).
Gazzetta dello Sport (22/07/22 via Sport Witness) claimed a deal is expected to total around €20 million (£17m), although a number of details are still to be ironed out, including its structure.
However, the same report noted Milan are keen on a loan move with an option to make the move permanent, while Spurs are insisting on an obligation instead.
Dell’Uomo has now issued a fresh take on Tanganga’s proposed loan to the San Siro and while the finer details and clauses are still being discussed, he expects the move to eventually come together.
He told Milan News: “For Tottenham, there are no problems with the loan. It is only necessary to define the right to buy back that Spurs don’t want to lose, considering Tanganga coming through their youth ranks and the limits imposed by UEFA.
“Milan want him, it’s not a mystery. Pioli needs his fourth centre-back while waiting to define the future of Mattia Gabbia. The chances of success are high.”

The proposed move to Milan for Tanganga would be a good deal for both parties including Spurs, especially if they are able to guarantee themselves a healthy sale price. It is a shame that an academy graduate is heading towards the exit, but he needs a refresh to get himself back on track.
