In a significant verdict for conservation of the Aravalis in Haryana, the Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that land covered by special orders issued under Section 4 of the Punjab Land Preservation Act (PLPA), 1900, were forest land and these cannot be used for non-forest activities without prior approval of the Centre.
