Nanaimo BC – The Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL are excited to announce the acquisition of defenceman Lukas Klemm (04) from the Philadelphia Rebels (Formerly Jamestown Rebels) of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).
“I chose Nanaimo because I have heard great things about the team, it’s in a beautiful spot and they showed interest in me so it was an easy choice. I want to play in the BCHL because it is more of a skill-based league and I think it is the best place for me to develop and round out my game.” – Klemm on joining the Clippers.
Klemm the 6’2, 195 lbs., D man, amassed 8 goals 10 assists for 18 points as a rookie in the NAHL last season.
“I really like what Lukas brings as a player, he is tough to play against and I think there is some untapped offensive potential to his game. This addition will give us one of the best right sides in the league.” – GM/HC Colin Birkas on Klemm.
As a player, Klemm likes to be known as a defender who can contribute both offensively and defensively and do whatever it takes to win.
“I think of myself as a two-way defenceman who is able to be a big part contributor on both sides of the puck, I want to make plays in the offensive zone but at the same time pride myself on my ability to lock it down defensively at critical points in the game.”
Nanaimo Clippers are proud to welcome the Klemm family into the Clippers community. Lukas will be here on September 2nd for the opening of main camp.
