Centre midfielder and free agent Alex Kenyon signed for Chester FC on a one-year contract today after impressing on trial due to FA clearance.
Top class addition and a big coup for us, as Alex boasts a wealth of EFL experience having played over 250 games for Morecambe, plus he isn’t even 30 yet!! He fits the right age demographic too, as he is not too young but not too old either, so this is just what we need. Having saw a photo of Alex playing for Altrincham on trial at the weekend I was pleasantly surprised to hear this news, so I am delighted we have pulled it off as he seems like the type of no-nonsense leader we need. He impressed me at Whitchurch Alport last week, so if he manages to escape injuries this season then I really cannot wait to see what he can do for us. As Calum McIntyre has said we are done and dusted in the midfield department, so if we have enough room in our budget then I would ideally bring in a left back and a striker, then we should be looking the part.
