Wall was the highlight of an Australian line-up that tallied 12 hits in the game, going 3-for-4 with 4 RBI and a run scored. In the top of the fifth, she hit a two-run home run to center field and added RBI singles in the third and sixth innings.
Clean-up hitter Taylah Tsitsikronis went 2-for-2 with 2 runs and 2 RBI, while Stacey McManus went 3-for-3 with a run scored.
From the circle, Ellen Roberts collected her second consecutive win of the tournament. She struck out 8 in 5.1 innings of works, while giving up 4 hits.
For Mexico, Olympian Sierra Hyland started and was charged with the loss, after tossing 2.2 innings in which she surrendered 3 runs and 2 hits.
Mexico finishes the group with a 0-3 record, and is booked into the fifth-place game tomorrow. Australia (2-1) has to wait until today’s game between Japan and Puerto Rico to know their fate in the event.
