Report: Spurs ‘offering around’ player as French club refuse to enter transfer talks
Tottenham are offering Tanguy Ndombele around to a number of clubs in the hope of achieving a permanent sale while Lyon have refused to enter discussions about a deal for the midfielder, according to Get French Football News.
It is claimed Spurs are keen to offload the 25-year-old permanently this summer but recognise they may have to settle for a loan exit with an option to buy if there is no movement by early August.
The report adds that Ndombele’s former side Lyon have since turned down any talks of a transfer after he had a disappointing loan spell with Les Gones in the second half of last season.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are thought to be hopeful of Villarreal picking up the Frenchman with the player hoping to seal a move to a club participating in the Champions League.
Ndombele struggled to break into Antonio Conte’s plans last term, making just nine appearances in the Premier League (Transfermarkt) as he fell hugely out of favour.
Spurs allowed him to leave the club during the January transfer window where he rejoined Lyon, although a poor second spell at the club led to the Ligue 1 side passing on the reported £54 million purchase option in his contract (Evening Standard).

It looks like Spurs have a big task on their hands this summer in terms of trying to offload Ndombele, as there just aren’t many takers at the moment.
The fact Lyon aren’t remotely interested in returning for him either shows they weren’t impressed with his loan spell last season, or Spurs may need to reduce what they are demanding for him.
