Richarlison opens up on Champions League ‘dream’ after securing Spurs move
Richarlison has admitted he is looking forward to realising his dream of playing in the Champions League after making the move to Tottenham.
The 25-year-old forward joined Spurs from Everton last week in a deal costing up to £60 million including add-ons (The Guardian).
Spurs confirmed Richarlison will wear the No. 9 shirt ahead of the new campaign with supporters likely to get a first look of him donning the jersey during the club’s pre-season trip to South Korea.
Richarlison’s move to north London will see him have the chance of playing Champions League football for the very first time in his career after Spurs secured qualification to Europe’s top table on the final day of last season.
And in anticipation of having the opportunity to play in the competition, the Brazil international forward admitted it has always been his dream having watched from afar.
Richarlison said (via Football.London): “It’s a dream isn’t it? I was commenting with my friends that the TV gave us goosebumps just listening to the theme song. So now I can be inside the stadium, listening to that music.
“I always said it was my dream to play in the Champions League, and now this dream will come true. Maybe I can cry because it will be a special moment to be there playing in the Champions League which I only watched on TV.
“Until last year I was there on the sofa in my house watching the Champions League, and I said it was time to play there.
“All the players dream of playing in this great competition, so I think when the time comes I’ll be quite emotional because it’s a big competition and all the players want to play there.”

Tottenham earning a spot in the Champions League was so important and that has been demonstrated by some of the comments made by Richarlison.
Although he is not currently guaranteed a starting place, he will definitely play a role in the campaign with plenty of game-changers needed at any moment.
