Fremont police seeking public’s help in solving fatal shooting
FREMONT — Police requested help from the public Thursday in their attempts to solve a shooting last week that killed a man.
Authorities still have not identified the man, who died in his driver’s seat June 17 after somebody from another vehicle fired into his. The shooting happened about 10:10 p.m. at the intersection of Fremont Boulevard and Mowry Avenue.
In a statement, Fremont police said they do not know why the shooting happened, and that they have no suspects. They said an older dark-colored, four-door vehicle, possibly a Mercedes, was of interest to them.
They also asked the anyone in the area around that time who may have seen or heard something to contact them, along with anyone who may have video footage of the area.
Officers who responded to the scene found the man with more than one bullet wound, police said. His vehicle was in the center median of the intersection.
Fremont Fire paramedics and officers both tried to save the man at the scene to no avail.
