NBA Finals: Warriors will open Chase Center for indoor viewing of road games
SAN FRANCISCO — Thrive City, the pop-up neighborhood of Warriors fans who gather to watch road games, is moving indoors.
Chase Center, “due to popular demand,” is inviting fans inside to watch the NBA Finals when the Warriors are away in Boston, where the Celtics will host Games 3 and 4, on June 8 and June 10.
Tickets are required for entry into the Warriors’ 3-year-old bayfront arena. Proceeds from the $25 tickets will benefit the Warriors’ Community Foundation.
Doors open an hour prior to the 6 p.m. PT tipoff next Wednesday and next Friday.
Those watch-party tickets also can be used for free rides on San Francisco’s MUNI transportation those days.
The NBA Finals open Thursday night when the Warriors host the Celtics in Game 1. a week after Golden State won the Western Conference finals and secured its sixth NBA Finals berth in eight seasons.
The Warriors are 9-0 at home in the playoffs. When they’ve been on the road, a growing throng of fans have come to watch a broadcast of road playoff games on a video board outside Chase Center.
Watch-party tickets for Games 3 and 4 are available at Warriors.com, and, if the series goes back to Boston for a Game 6, Chase Center again will host a watch party and those tickets will go on sale at a later date. Doors for all Warriors Watch Parties will open one hour prior to tipoff.
