Charles Siebert dead at 84: Trapper John, M.D. and The Miracle Worker star passes away from Covid-related pneumonia
CHARLES Siebert has died at 84 due to Covid-related pneumonia, his family said.
The actor, known for his role in CBS drama Trapper John, MD, succumbed to the illness at University of California San Francisco Medical Center, his daughter told The Hollywood Reporter.
Charles Siebert was born on March 9, 1938, in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
He studied acting at university before eventually appearing on Broadway in 1967.
Throughout his career, he appeared on Broadway six times and was in shows like Galileo, Jimmy Shine, and The Gingerbread Lady.
He also helped make ends meet by acting in soap operas like Search for Tomorrow and As the World Turns.
In 1979, Siebert began his role on the MASH spinoff Trapper John.
He appeared in all 151 episodes as the memorable Dr Sanley Riverside.
The late actor also appeared in movies such as The Other Side of Midnight, Blue Sunshine, and Coma.
He spent his final decades in Sonoma County, California, where he continued to act and direct for local theatre.
He is survived by his second wife Kristine Leroux and his children Gillian and Christopher.
Siebert’s first wife Catherine, died in 1981 of breast cancer at 44.
The actor also had another son named Charlie Jr who died in 2020.
