Man Utd owner Avram Glazer hints at summer transfer spree and admits he is ‘disappointed’ in woeful season
MANCHESTER UNITED owner Avram Glazer has hinted that the club could splash the cash in the upcoming transfer window.
The Red Devils are expected to dip into the market under Erik Ten Hag having posted their lowest ever Premier League points tally.
Two central midfielders, plus a striker and a centre-half are top of Ten Hag’s summer wishlist.
Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is one name on the list, but SunSport exclusively revealed earlier this month United face a battle to sign the former Ajax star.
Glazer though suggested funds will be available in the upcoming window.
When asked by Sky Sports if the club are able to invest before next season, Glazer replied: “We’ve always spent the money necessary to buy new players.”

The 61-year-old, a hugely unpopular figure among the United fanbase, was also asked if he was disappointed with the season just gone.
United posted a measly 58 points, finishing sixth-place in the table.
But Glazer initially said: “I don’t think this is the time to talk about that.”
Although he then conceded: “It is a disappointing season, it’s been a disappointing season for everyone and we’re going to work hard to make next season a better season.”

But Glazer is firm in the belief that Ten Hag is the right man to turn the club’s fortunes around.
When quizzed whether the Dutchman was up to the task, Glazer hit back: “That’s why we hired him, he’ll do a great job.”
United fans have protested against the Glazer ownership on numerous occasions this season.
Huge letters spelling “Glazers out” were unfurled before the 3-2 win over Norwich last month.
During the same game some fans refused to take their seats until the 17th minute to mark one minute for every year of Glazer ownership.
There were also protests during the final home game of the season against Brentford.
And just last week United fans got the term “#BoycottAdidas” trending on Twitter in a bid to target the Glazers’ stakeholders.
