Cancer affects everyone, but it doesn’t affect everyone equally. Each segment of the population experiences variable rates of certain cancers, differing responses to the same therapies, and widely divergent outcomes due to underlying socioeconomic factors that influence their access and care and biologic factors that influence their treatment tolerance and response.
