‘Impacted me the most’ – Bentancur names Spurs stadium among two favourites in Premier League
Rodrigo Bentancur has admitted that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has impacted him the most in his career so far.
The 24-year-old joined Spurs from Juventus on transfer deadline day in January and has already earned a key role in Antonio Conte’s midfield alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
He has made 17 appearances since moving to England (Transfermarkt) and has helped to put Spurs in a prime position to secure a place in the Premier League top four ahead of arch-rivals Arsenal.
Bentancur has also brought a wealth of experience to North London having earned three Serie A titles and two Coppa Italia crowns (Transfermarkt), as well as being a regular for the Uruguay national team.
The breadth of the midfielder’s career already has also meant he has been able to run out on a wide array of pitches in stadiums across the world.
Bentancur has now revealed that Wembley Stadium was the biggest he had the pleasure of playing in, while Spurs’ home and Manchester United’s Old Trafford are two of his favourites in England.
On the biggest stadium he has played in, he said (via Football.London): “Wembley Stadium, in a friendly against Tottenham!
“It was my first year at Juve, and we came to play a friendly in London. It was incredible, a fantastic stadium. Being one of my first games for Juve and having the chance to play in that stadium was great.”
“Tottenham’s is the stadium that has impacted me the most so far, but for an away stadium I would say Manchester United’s.
“It’s an incredible venue that has a lot of history. I played there also for Juventus, but playing there for the second time with Spurs, I could see that it is a very beautiful stadium.”

Players that come to England usually take a liking to Old Trafford too due to United’s history making it one of the Premier League’s most iconic stadiums.
