Marc has a longtime scouting and development background, and shared some great insights with us about the draft and evaluation process within the organization, why development of players matter, and much more!
With the Mets having five of the first 90 picks in the 2022 MLB Draft, we asked Marc how important this year’s draft is for the future of the farm system:
“Yeah I won’t hide from that, absolutely it is. It’s five picks in the first 90, we may never have that again. The pressure is welcomed, we want to hammer it and just continue to build upon what we did last year replenishing/restocking the farm system…but yes this is a big draft for us, we know it, our staff knows it, when you have this many picks you just need to do the best job that you possibly can.”
